Dane Certificate

`Dane Certificate is the unchallenged king of the melbourne underground`-Danny Griffith-Mess and Noise australia

`Reinvents what is defined as 'live music performance'- Ben Crowsella-Underground magazine, Japan.

'Here comes the change'-Sam Stevenson-Rolling Stone mag, USA.

`Aussie solo bod who seems to be operating in the sub comical area you might find Ween and early Beck. Pretty interesting blend of garagey blues rock and angsty punker singing. Elsewhere he takes on a little wistful, lyrical Andy Partridge meets Blur style songwriting, sub Nirvana thru Sabs grungings and all sorts really. An alt pop groove overlord`….Bug Bear Bookings-UK.

Dane Certificate, 26 years old, is a one man band in all aspects, down to the company he keeps on stage. Smashing drums, twanging psychedelic to heavy guitars, magic tricks, lights‐an explosion of chaos. Dane Certificate has been doing solo shows around Australia for 10 years, and has been touring Russia, Japan and will continue through Europe and USA, playing shows and recording his new album`miss imagination` before returning to Moscow to release the new album and tour heavily again.

Pop sensation. Voice of a future generation... Unpredictable Magic one man band. Dane Certificate. Multitasking guitars, smashing drums, psychedelic freakouts and commodore64 madness. You never know what he will do next. Dane Certificate "Williams" grew up in a small Australian town called Albury, on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. The Williams family bred ostriches on a farm, while living in a caravan. As a child Dane learnt the piano, moved to trombone in the Albury city band with his brother Rowan Williams(Bunyip Moon, Pronoun) on the Euphonium. Later Dane switched to drums and his mum Mrs Coralie Williams(saxaphone)supported Dane's drumming, and his father 'Ray' bought him a drumkit.

Dane continued to play the drums in bands, picking up band mates guitars occasionally and eventually started writing his own songs, recording them constantly and performing them at the local open mic night in Albury. Dane had a brief conversation with a fortune teller who predicted many things including a man on a bike, and at the age of 18 Dane moved to Melbourne to look for a drummer-he stopped at the traffic lights, looked to his left and there was a man on a bike with a trailer full of drums."want to start a band"-Dane said.."OK."-said the man. Adam Gooderham was his name, and Epsilon Party was the band. Dane and Adam ended up meeting a poet Hugh Tolhurst who approached them at a gig, wanted to do a spoken word piece, and asked Epsilon Party to do the music for his poetry recording at Birdland studios Melbourne.

They recorded the album Day Release while Hugh "Tol"hurst was on day release from a psychiatric hospital. This is where Dane met Lindsay Gravina and Rob Long at Birdland Studios and booked a day to record Epsilon Party(now with bassist Adrian Reid). Due to circumstances beyond their control, Epsilon Party couldn't make it to Birdland so Dane arrived at the studio by himself and recorded his first Dane 'Certificate' single named 'GONE'. He gathered 12 other home recordings and had it mastered as So Orange, with the single called GONE featured on Rage-launching it at a pub in Melbourne. Dane wasn't sure how he would play the songs by himself and turned the snare drum on its side kicking it with a pedal and strummed a guitar singing out of key for about 6 minutes and that was it. The crowd went wild. From that night on Dane Certificate was a one man band.
